What Taco Bell is Testing in E9

Within the first week into each new experience we start seeing all the items Taco Bell puts out to test that month. Taco Bell has been seen testing anywhere up to 5 offers in a month but sometimes they don't test any. The average month for the past 3 years is about two items testing per experiene. Generally these items have about a 30% chance of going nationwide and if they do it's on average 8 months after they test. This month we've seen four different test items; Mexican Pizza Crunchwrap, $1 Loaded Nacho Taco, Chicken Tortada, and $1 Crispy Chicken Tacos.

Mexican Pizza Crunchwrap

The Mexican Pizza Crunchwrap was originally spotted testing in Oklahoma City, OK June 2018. This item is exactly how it sounds; a mexican pizza wrapped up like a crunchwrap. The $5 Box includes the MPC, 2 Tacos, and a medium drink.

The item was spotted again this month testing in Tuscaloosa, AL.

$1 Loaded Nacho Taco

The $1 Loaded Nacho Taco was spotted testing in the Northern Ohio test market.

This item is similar to the $1 Loaded Nacho Burritos tested in May of this year. The taco, advertised as soft shell, includes beef, lettuce, shredded cheese, nacho cheese, and red tortilla strips (vs. the "Southwest Seasoned Chips in the test burrito)

The $5 Box with this item includes a Loaded Nacho Taco, a Crunchy Taco, a 5-Layer Burrito, Cinnamon Twists, and a medium drink.

This is something we think potentially could go nationwide, both the Loaded Nacho Burrito and Taco together.

Chicken Tortada

The Chicken Tortada's were spotted testing in Kansas City, MO.

These items are similar to the Tortadas Taco Bell had in 2010, except this time there are naked chicken chips inside of them. Along with the naked chicken chips you have lettuce, tomato, shredded cheese, pico de gallo, red tortilla strips, and your choice of either Avocado Ranch, or Mango Habanero sauce.

These are testing for $2.49 each.

$1 Crispy Chicken Tacos

The $1 Crispy Chicken Tacos were spotted testing in the Charleston, WV area.

These are soft taco shells filled with naked chicken chips, lettuce, shredded cheese, and your choice of 3 sauces. You can get them in Avocado Ranch, Buffalo, or Chipotle.

The $5 Box for this item includes a Crispy Chicken Taco, a Crunchy Taco, a Beefy 5-layer Burrito, Cinnamon Twists, and a Medium drink.

Along with this, Taco Bell would sell 6-packs for chicken chips for $2.49.

We'd like to make an additional note regarding crispy chicken items as well as they nacho fries. In the past we have made the assumption that Nacho Fries would become a permanent item, even thought the same about Naked Chicken items at one point. After the past year we have changed our opinion. They were originally assumed permanent because of Taco Bell adding extra fryers to locations, testing new menus, etc. Now we already know the Naked Chicken Chalupa is coming back in Experience 1 of 2019 and the fries back in Experience 2 of 2019, with those and all the testing items it is clear both items are meant to be in and out items that will rotate as limited time offers. So don't expect either to stay too long, but don't be too disappointed when they leave because they will most definitely be back.

That's all for today! Tune in tomorrow for a Reddit Recap to see what's been going on in the Reddit community for the past week.
